![]() ![]() One had about 0.006” clearance or end float. ![]() I had two nuts to try, as I bought an extra one for something else that uses the same nut. I just installed a new nut on the cross feed of my 12”. So your options are to try another used one or bite the bullet and buy a new one. Else you could have considered at least cutting most of the Acme threaded part off, turning it down to something less than the minor diameter of the Acme threads, buying a new piece of Acme threaded rod, boring one end of it and pinning it onto the unthreaded portion of the original screw. Unfortunately, the unthreaded part that runs in the bearing that screws into the saddle is probably worn out too. The seller should have scrapped it instead of listing it for sale. It sounds to me like the cross feed screw that you bought off of eBay is worn out. So regardless of how you do it, you need to get rid of that 18 TPI screw. With 10 TPI, rotate the crank exactly 5 times and you Whereas 20 TPI is 0.050” pitch and 10 TPI is 0.100” pitch. Meaning that one revolution of the crank will move the cross slide 0.055555+”. The problem with an 18 TPI thread is that you can’t really make a dial for it that makes much sense. ![]()
